On Thursday Maple visited the M6 Theatre Company as part of our Linking Schools network. The children met and worked with a Year 4 class from Ashfield Valley Primary. Maple have been working hard with negative numbers in maths today. We worked in groups to order our negative numbers. We even made human number lines, positioning ourselves in the correct order. Maple have been comparing human anatomy to other animals this afternoon. We worked in pairs to try and identify which animals have backbones and which don’t. We discussed which of these animals had exoskeletons and which had endoskeletons. We classified the animals into vertebrates and invertebrates.
This afternoon, Maple have been mark making with charcoal. We experimented with different textures and effects to try and express the meaning of some words. We had great fun trying to ‘draw’ anger, sadness and happiness to name a few!
