Today, Year One have been learning all about embracing our differences. We discussed what makes us different, such as our hair colour, likes/dislikes, height, skin colour, and the places our families come from, and how we should celebrate this as it is what makes us unique.
We discussed recent events such as the Euro Finals, and discussed the unkind comments made towards some of the football players due to their skin colour. The children wanted these players to know that we believe in them, and are so grateful for what they have done for our country – both on and off the pitch! The children wanted to show the players how much they mean to us and have written some heartwarming messages which we have proudly displayed outside our school gates!
