This half-term, Year 1 are going to be writing a travel journal. Yesterday we learnt about what a travel journal is and watched a travel vlog to help us gather ideas about the type of things we will write about. Today we watched videos about safaris so we could remember facts about the setting and animals we may see and pretended to go on our own safari. We then had ‘safari’ COOL time, in which we wrote post-cards, drew and wrote facts about safari animals, read books about animals, looked for Africa in the Atlas and on the globe and created our own safaris in the small world area.
We now know lots of facts ready to start writing tomorrow.
