Last week, Year 5 made the most of the sun with a trip to Queen’s Park for our geography fieldwork. The children worked in pairs to find a suitable location for a picnic taking a number of factors into consideration, such as safety, suitable grounds, surrounding nature, weather etc. We took a route round the back of school, making a number of stops along the way. At each stop we decided if it was or wasn’t a good place for a picnic and the reasons why. As it was also our trainee teachers last day, once we had found the perfect spot, we had a celebration breakfast picnic of chocolate waffles and juice. We then spent some time playing on the park and playing some sports games before heading back to school. We had a fantastic day and wish Mr Ash and Miss Bird lots of luck in their teaching careers.
