Baby pictures
In our topic we have been looking at how we have changed over time. Yesterday we brought in our baby pictures so that we could look at the similarities and differences in ourselves between then and now.

It is eco week in school and this afternoon we have been recycling plastic bottles, making them into beautiful flowers. We cut the bottom of the bottles off and then painted them to look like flowers.
This morning we have had lots of fun reasoning and problem solving at the Funmaths Roadshow. We worked our way around the activities with our partner and helped each other answer the questions.
Today in Oaks we have been discussing our similarities and differences and how they make us special! We have celebrated our differences and told other members of the class what we really like about them.
This week we have made alien masks to make the aliens that crash landed feel more welcome at our school! The children came up with their own designs.
This afternoon we made explosive rocket fuel for our experiement. We wanted to see how high rocket fuel could shoot so we mixed different amounts of coke and mentos and watched what happened. We recorded our results in a table. The children were very excited!
Oaks class decided that they wanted to spend the money that Jacob was rewarded on resources to have egg and spoon races. We held the races this afternoon and the children had lots of fun!

Aliens have landed at St Luke’s! Aliens have landed at our school and have been curious about the different types of materials there are on earth. We decided to make a spaceship using materials available to us to help them get home.
This week the children have been using the base 10 equipment to work out how many tens and ones are in different numbers. They have worked really hard and thought about how to represent numbers in different ways.
