We’re going on a Prayer Hunt

Year 6 joined the rest of KS2 on a prayer hunt yesterday. We took part in various activities across school, focusing on the following themes: Different representations of Jesus Seeds of Peace Prayer for refuge and safety Tree rings The World and Christianity. The children really understood the key messages and worked extremely well all day. Well done Year 6.

Agents of Change!

Prayer Hunt

Snowdrops went on a prayer hunt during Forest school. They searched for images of Jesus. We discussed the differences and similarities of the pictures. We then thought about what we think Jesus looks like and drew our own Jesus! Juniper enjoyed their Prayer Hunt yesterday. We moved around the school to work in different locations, thinking about God and his wonderful creations. Missing number planets

Today we set off in our rockets to travel around the solar system answering missing number addition problems. We showed excellent team work in working with a partner to answer the question written on each planet and write the completed number sentence on our worksheets.

Industrial Revolution Workshop

Year 6 were lucky to have a workshop with the Rochdale Pioneer Museum. We were able to build on all of our prior knowledge from our Industrial Revolution unit in History. We looked at living conditions, working conditions in factories, and how Rochdale was a key boom town during the Industrial Revolution.

Pioneer Museum – Industrial Revolution workshop

Today year 6 took part in a workshop delivered by Rochdale Pioneer Museum. The workshop consolidated all their knowledge from our topic this half term. The children focused on key vocabulary such as: Victorian Era, Industrial Revolution, agriculture, trading and cotton. Reverend Kirsty visit.

In R.E this half term we have been studying ‘Who is a Christian and what do they believe?’  today we had a very special visit from Reverend Kirsty, who came into our class and discussed what it means to be a Christian and described some beliefs that are important to Christians. She then talked about how she as a Christian lives her life by living by Jesus’ teachings.
