We were very lucky today as Touchstones came into our school and delivered a workshop all about the Romans. We learnt facts, tried on armour and togas and made our own Roman banners. We also put on special gloves and handled some Roman coins.
We counted lots of different objects today and made numbers up to 10 in lots of different ways!
What a fantastic first week back we have had in Elm! A huge well done to all the children in Ash as you’ve all made such a fantastic start to the new school year. We’ve had a brilliant week in Willows. We have been very busy and have had lots of fun playing maths games outside, sharing stories, building using Lego and Duplo and playing on Numbots alongside lots of other fun activities! Juniper have enjoyed a lovely first week back in school. Both myself and Mrs Jones are very proud of the children. They’ve come back to school ready to learn, with big smiles on their faces. We’ve learnt some new maths, written some lovely narrative pieces, found out about pure and mixed substances in Science, read about ‘slums’ in Geography and much more. Well done everyone!
