Year 4, 5 and 6 have had a fantastic day of prayer and reflection. The children completed a range of different activities, which prompted thought-provoking discussions. This half term in DT, we have been learning about wheels, axles and axle holders. We found out what the words meant, and how each part works. During our Art lesson this week we looked at making different shades and tones. We made different shades by adding black to a colour and different tints by adding white to a colour. Next half term we will be using this skill when creating paintings.
Year 4 were very excited today as we made some oobleck during our Science lesson. We know from our knowledge organisers that scientist find it difficult to categorise which state of matter oobleck is so we were intrigued to find out why. Year 4 are taking part in the linking project this year. We are creating friendships with a Year 4 class from Ashfield valley Primary School. This week the children received letters from their linking friend from Ashfield Valley. They were so excited and we have sent some letters back. The children are very excited to meet their new friend when we go to the M6 theatre next term.

Bluebells have been learning about Autumn. We have been on lots of autumn walks and we have been discussing the changes. We have enjoyed comparing the different leaves and trees, collecting conkers and using natural resources to make our own pictures.
