Remembrance Day

Throughout the day, Year 6 had to opportunity to remember those who lost their lives at war making a better life for us. Bonfire Night

Today we have learnt about Diwali and why some people celebrate it in different religions. We spent all morning creating rangoli patterns and making our own mehndi hand designs. M6 Theatre Visit

On Thursday Maple visited the M6 Theatre Company as part of our Linking Schools network. The children met and worked with a Year 4 class from Ashfield Valley Primary. In literacy we have been reading the story the little red hen. The animals did not want to help the hen make the bread until it was time to eat the bread. Pirates love underpants

We came in the classroom and noticed underpants everywhere! We had no idea who had left them there and someone had left us a letter. We have been working hard to design our Christmas cards.  We know it is early but on Wednesday 20th October the Christmas card designs will be sent home. Our Digestive Systems

This afternoon, Maple have been learning about the digestive system. We watched Mrs Grindrod show us how our teeth and saliva mashed up some banana and biscuit. Hello Yellow

On Friday, the whole school recognised and celebrated World Mental Health day by taking part in Hello Yellow to raise money for the fantastic Young Minds charity. The children came to school dressed in yellow, listened to assemblies that taught them about mental health, and took part in a range of activities to support good mental health.
