Dinosaur school 🦕

In Reception this afternoon bluebells had two special visitors, Dina and Wally from dinosaur school. Wally brought us some super hero pictures and wanted to know how we could be a super kind friend. Birch visit dippy 🦕

This week Year 3 Birch were lucky enough to visit Dippy the Diplodocus in Rochdale. We travelled by bus into Rochdale centre, thinking about our road safety and stranger safety and all the staff were really impressed with the behaviour of the children. World Kindness Day in Willows

We looked at The Smartest Giant in Town by Julia Donaldson.   We noticed that the Smartest Giant in town was very kind to all the animals in the story. We decided to be kind like the Giant by giving people around the school some scrummy treats! Online Safety- Tek

This week is online safety week. Year 3 Birch recognised this by reading “Tek The Modern Cave Boy” This book is designed to look like an iPad and teaches the children how and why spending too much time on technology computer games, can effect your wellbeing and relationships with family and friends. We followed this by safe searching the meaning of highlighted words in the book.

Safer Internet day

On Tuesday it was safer Internet day so to begin the day the digital leaders shared a PowerPoint and talked to us all about keeping safe online. We then read our class story: The story is about what happens when different fairy tale characters receive a laptop and learn a lesson in online safety. Online safety week

Year 3 have been looking at ways to stay safe online. We read the book Tek about a boy who spends too much time online and we discussed the dangers of over using the Internet. Shared lunch and learning
