During French week we studied the artist Van Gogh we created his ‘Starry Night’ painting by using pastels to create a background for our Carcassonne castle sketches which we put in the foreground. We hope you like them 😬😁😃
In Science lessons we have been investigating light and conducted an experiment to see how light reflects from both shiny and dull objects. We looked at objects in the dark, with a little bit of light and a tea light. We then evaluated and analysed our results to see which objects reflected the most light. We loved being Scientists 👏
This week we had lots of fun doing our class assembly! We really enjoyed our dance set in the Stone Age, it taught us about the many jobs people had to do in order to survive! We also sang a French song called ‘Jean Petit Qui Danse’ which helped us learn the name of the body parts in French. In Saturn we have had our shared lunch which was very successful and we had great feedback from parents. We have also had our shared learning where parents were invited in to complete an African art lesson. We were really impressed with lots of the parents art skills: A big thank you to all of the parents that could make it to the shared lunch and shared activity.
In science, Year 4 have been learning about electricity. Last week, we learnt about the flow of electrons and this week we have been creating mini circuits in preparation for our big class project – to build a robot! Here are our attempts so far. We had some struggle getting the big circuit working – it needed a lot of battery power!
Oaks have been working so hard… We have been piecing together the story of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf! Sequencing the pictures to create the story was hard work but we managed to remember all the key parts to the story. Then we acted out what the characters said when they met each other!
