The Gulp Challenge Begins !

Year 4 and Year 6 have been chosen to take part in the GULP challenge. The challenge has started today with the children excited about the idea of giving up sugary drinks for the next 21 days. French Week

During French week we had lots of fun and learnt lots of new things. We tasted French food, the croissants were very yummy! We learnt about the famous landmarks in France. Our favourite was the Eiffel Tower. We tried to make it using bricks in the construction area and we used match sticks in the creative area. Algebra

Over the last week, Year 6 have been looking at a range of elements linked to algebra. Through the use of manipulatives and practical activities, we have developed our contextual understanding of a number of areas: substituting values into a formula; balancing expressions; expressing number problems algebraically; nth term and sequences.

Immersive Room

Willows went in the Immersive Room to set the scene for our new class text – Little Red Riding Hood. We went for a walk through the forest where Little Red Riding Hood met the wolf and had to think about what we could see, hear and what feelings we had.

French Castles

Children learned about castles in France during French week! To promote recycling, we asked children to bring in materials such as boxes and tissue paper rolls to build these castles. We worked as a team to create the castles and some castles had working drawbridges. We were very proud of these!
