This morning Year 6 Rowan spent time in the Forest School area. The children took time to discuss and define the word Trust (our Christian Value for Spring 1). The children split into three groups. Each group focused on a different activity.

Group 1 looked at Bible quotes linking to trust. The children looked through the window, reflected in the mirror and walked through the door with a new action.

Group 2 decorated a log slice with their favourite Bible quote all about trust (see our pictures – they are beautiful).

Group 3 made popcorn with Mrs Alderson. The children discussed how the popcorn links with the teachings from The Bible. Unpopped popcorn would not taste nice. However, if we apply heat to the popcorn, we will produce something delicious. God knows that each child is different and can reach their potential in their own time. In our lives, there are times and situations that we find difficult, this is God turning up the heat. However, if we show patience and put our trust into God, everything will work out perfect for us. We can learn from these unexpected situations.

The children discussed how popcorn is similar to Jesus calms the storm. We can have a washing machine feeling in our stomachs, but if we put our trust into God he will calm us and support us to become a better person and achieve our goal.

The children took time to reflect on their morning and enjoyed time in nature.

Well done Year 6.
