In Maths, we looked at how to create a formula to help us to calculate the area of a triangle.
We investigated a variety of shapes and then focused on rectangles.
We looked at cutting a triangle out of rectangles and noted what we noticed about the area of the shape we had left.
We realised that the area left was the exact same area as the triangle we had cut out.
We found that by finding the area of a rectangle and then halving, we could find the area of a triangle.
