Tens and Ones

We have been very busy over the last few weeks getting ready for our assembly and today our mummies, daddies, grandmas and grandads came to watch us. We did really well learning our lines and sang all of the songs beautifully. Well done Year 1!

This week we have been invited to Mr Fox’s woodland tea party. We decided to make woodland crowns to wear on the day. We gathered natural materials from outside and carefully arranged them to make a crown.

This morning Year 4 and Year 1 Oaks had a shared reading morning. The children shared Christmas stories and reading books. They took turns to read to each other and discussed the story. Year 1 Oaks said that they really enjoyed themselves!

We have had lots of deliveries to school which means lots of boxes and Buttercups have put them to good use! We have used the boxes and materials to make dens and have written messages all over them.
This week we have set our butterflies free! We watched them grow from caterpillars to cocoons and then into butterflies. The children each took a turn to hold a butterfly before setting it free in Kayden’s Garden.
Everybody in Key Stage 1 had lots of fun this morning taking part in our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Well done to the winners from each class who collected the most eggs.
