What better way for parents to avoid the daily grind than come in to Year 6 to tackle ratio and proportion problems with their children.

As part of our shared lunch, Year 6 and their families were given a series of clues 1-by-1 to help them recreate a pattern designed by Mr Hignett.

With each clue, they had to decide how many counters they needed for each colour (e.g. 5% are orange) and how to arrange the counters. Each clue brought new problems to face and change to be made throughout.

Everybody worked extremely hard and some of the completed challenges are shown below:
