A visit from Touchstones

Today we had a visit from Touchstones museum. It was a brilliant introduction to our History topic for this half term – Romans.

We had a discussion about where the Romans originated from which led on to us looking at the vexillum which is a flag used by the Roman army.

We then had the chance to try on a Roman helmet and had a look at a sword and shield that would have been used in battle.

We also have a box of Roman artefacts that we are going to be looking at in our History lessons over the next few weeks.
