As part of our Frozen Kingdom topic, Year 6 had to try and construct food webs to show predators and prey in the Arctic. We studied many of the animals, where they live, the conditions they need, where they would likely hunt, and investigated further into the animals’ eating habits.

We looked at what producers, consumers, herbivores, omnivores, predators, prey and top predators are and used this knowledge to help construct the food webs.

Once we had produced these, we were then able to use them as a guide to create smaller food chains within the Arctic ecosystem, both for animals on the land and in the ocean.
