This half-term in after-school club, we have been developing our essential skill of problem solving through a range of engaging and active challenges. This half-term, Year 1 have been exploring the art skill of creating 3D forms using paper. During our recent lesson, the children worked collaboratively to design and build a large spider model inspired by Maman by Louise Bourgeois. We used a variety of techniques to turn newspaper and tape into 3D spiders. The activity encouraged creativity, problem solving and teamwork, as the children shared ideas and supported one another to achieve a fantastic final piece. Read more
This week we have been taking part in Random Acts of Kindness. We collected donations for Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary, made pictures for our friends, created a Word Art on the computer for our friends and we completed a Kindness tree to show how many time we have been kind this week.
Reception have been discussing how we can show a random act of kindness. This afternoon, Reception decided to make cards and pictures of our nursery children. We hope they like them and they make them smile!
Year 2 had a wonderful time celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Day! We collected donations for Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary, bringing in pet food, blankets and toys to help care for animals in need. Year 5 have been litter picking today as our part of our ‘Random act of kindness’. Random act of kindness week is a global, annual event dedicated to encouraging, celebrating and practicing small acts of kindness to foster community, positivity and connection. Well done year 5.
