On Tuesday, we had the amazing opportunity to take part in a virtual workshop called “Soundtrack Your Story” with the inspiring Alim Kamara. This week we listened to a story all about Webster. He lied about his identity online and was talking to a stranger who was also pretending to be somebody different. We discussed the importance of keeping safe online. We also completed a Kahoot quiz all about keeping safe online.
We took part in National Storytelling week and listened to a story called ‘I am Nefertiti’. We looked at how we could use our bodies to make music to bring the story to life. Afterwards, we completed a poem about ourselves: Additionally, we have been enjoying stories by sharing our lending library books with our partners.
To celebrate National Storytelling Week, Year 1 took part in an online workshop with author. Annemarie taught us how to explore the magic of storytelling through music and rythm. The children have learnt about ‘Murphy’s Law’ that ‘if something can go wrong it will go wrong!’ They have investigated the question, ‘Why does toast always land buttered side down?’ We have had great fun investigating whether or not the thickness of the toast affects which way it lands. Random Acts of Kindness- this year in Year 1, we have created a lovely note to pass out to our neighbours close to school to share some happiness and a random act of kindness. Children loved creating these!
