Circuit training
We had lots of fun completing different circuits during our PE lesson.

During our Science topic we looked at the different types of teeth and their functions. We then created our own models, thinking carefully about the different teeth types and their shapes.
Our art topic this half term is all about creating different types of sculptures. We have created some soap sculptures! It’s a lot tricker than it looks!
Today we took our Maths lesson outside! Around the playground were question cards e.g. 25×6. We had to then find the answer which then led us to another question. We had lots of fun!
In our Science topic for this half term, we are looking at Earth and Space. In last weeks lesson, the children were really interested in finding out about our planet and our solar system. For lesson 2, we started by looking at the celestial bodies of our solar system and putting them in the correct order from closest to the sun to furthest away. We then recreated the geocentric model and the heliocentric model to Read more
Pine have been describing the movement and shapes of the celestial bodies in our Solar System. Out in the playground we modelled the Solar System, arranging ourselves correctly to represent the Solar System with the Sun at the centre and the planets in order from the Sun. We then researched each planet detailing its size, its distance from the Sun, what it is made from, how fast it orbits and some fun facts about it. Read more
During our science lesson this week, we have used our senses to describe unknown objects and different scenarios where our senses are being used.
For week 2 of STEM Club, we were making and testing toothpaste! The children were sent a letter from The Bright Smile Toothpaste Company asking them to make and test their new recipe of toothpaste. The children followed their recipe and mixed their ingredients together well, adding colouring if they wished to do so, before putting their creations to the test! The children had whiteboards that had been stained with permanent marker pen. They used Read more
We loved using the apparatus today. The children were so brave in overcoming these challenges. We used our muscles to move in different ways over, under, up and down the obstacles.
Yesterday some children from year 5 began their journey on a fantastic Science Project involving other Rochdale schools. We have been invited to take part in a programme to work scientifically, undertaking a project in which we have to identify a problem within our local community that can be solved by scientific enquiry. We spent the first session carrying out various experiments which would inspire us to think of a possible project that we might Read more
