Science – Sensitive bodies

This half term, year 1 are focusing on ‘Sensitive bodies’ as our new topic  for the first lesson, we identified our different body parts, labelled them and understood what they are used for  we are then played a game to quickly point to different body parts

Uses of everyday materials

Online safety: Plagiarism

This afternoon we have completed our online safety lesson for this half term. We began by discussing what the term ‘plagiarism’ means. We completed a quiz in pairs to identify which of the examples given were examples of plagiarism. In our learning for life session this morning, we were learning about people who help us. STEM Club Week 1

Week 1 of STEM Club and the children have been making ‘Crafty Rafts’. They had to design and make a model raft using just a piece of paper. Then they had to conduct a fair test to see which raft design could hold the most weight. Willows Christmas Party

Willows had lots of fun at their Christmas party this week. We played lots of games, ate party food and showed the adults our fantastic dance moves. Well done to the children on a fantastic first term, and thank you to all the parents for your support. Wishing you all a very merry Christmas 🎄

Healthy eating

This half term we have been learning about staying healthy and how to look after our bodies. In Design and Technology we learnt about the different food groups then create a healthy wrap.   We also had a visit from our school nurse who explained how to keep our bodies healthy and shared with us how much sugar is in different drinks

Christmas in Year 1

We have had such a wonderful time celebrating Christmas in Year 1. We enjoyed Christmas dinner and jumper day, enjoyed our Christmas Dojo great afternoon and of course our Christmas party day!!! Also a very exciting visit from Santa!  The children enjoyed spending time together in the hall dancing and winning prizes as well as in class. The children also created some wonderful Christmas crafts! Merry Christmas everyone!
