French Music

This week in Music, Miss Taylor taught the children some songs in French. We sang head, shoulders, knees and toes and Frere Jacques in French and English. World Book Day

Yesterday we celebrated World Book Day. We all dressed up in fantastic costumes to celebrate our favourite characters. We read lots of stories and talked about why we love having stories read to us. A big well done to Bobby who won the prize for best costume in Snowdrops!

France and Pancake Day

Bonjour! This week we have been getting letters from Bertie Bear who has gone on holiday to France. We have looked at different French landmarks and have used lots of different adjectives to describe them. We have also had a go at saying different French words including French foods. We had lots of fun for World Book Day – everyone made lots of effort dressing up and looked fantastic. We have been trying to complete as many of the ‘25 ways to celebrate World Book Day’ challenges. As part of our World Book Day celebrations, Year 6 looked at learning, writing and performing a range of poems to celebrate reading. We also designed front covers for the class novels which have inspired our reading and writing this year. All of our activities have helped contribute towards meeting as many of the ’25 ways to celebrate World Book Day’ challenges as possible.

Today we took part in a live lesson listening to famous authors and illustrators discuss their work. We have created some amazing poems about reading using metaphors.
