African dance
We have had lots of fun designing and painting our African masks. Once they were dry we then practised an African dance, once we practised it a few times we then did the dance with our masks and we did amazing!

We have really enjoyed our last week in Reception and have had lots of fun. We went on a scavenger hunt to see if we could find our friend’s faces and ticked them off our list. We were so glad to be back together today. We have a fun filled day with party games, karaoke and a water fight. Miss Ainsworth was so naughty and filled up the bucket to cheat mwah! The children have had a lovely first day back. If you are isolating tomorrow Miss Ainsworth will do a teams meeting at 10am so we all get the chance to say goodbye.
As part of our transition to high school, we created rivers to symbolise our journey through primary school. After this, we transformed our rivers into boats and took them to Queen’s Park. We then let them set sail down the River Roach to show that our journey continues, even after we leave St. Luke’s.
At the end of the day Miss Longmire announced the winner of the sports day and after keeping score from all of the stations the winner was………………………. It was a DRAW!!!!!!! We both did amazing and we are ready for the weekend!
We are sure lots of us stayed up late to watch the Euro final between Italy and England and unfortunately England just missed out on penalties. Even though we did not win, getting to the final was a big achievement for our team and we are all proud of the team for getting so far. All of Reception took part in a mini sports day with both Bluebells and Snowdrops. The sun was beaming so we all had a drink of water to take outside with us. We had five different stations, dodgeball, football, egg and spoon, obstacle and also javelin. Bluebells and Snowdrops were against each other to battle it out for the winner. Unfortunately, the Year 6 Banner service couldn’t be held at the cathedral this year, however resources were sent so we could hold our own service in school. Rev. Kirsty led the service for us and the children shared songs and prayers they had written themselves.
Year 5 have had a fantastic afternoon with Emma and her crazy creatures. As a special end of year treat, and to link with our current science topic, we had a special visitor come to school with a selection of her fantastic creatures.
