We are super excited to be back in school with all of our friends. Our teachers have been so proud of us all coming back to school, we even got a certificate for our hard work. On Thursday we came in to school dressed as our favourite book characters and completed lots of different activities throughout the day. We watched the masked reader and guessed each reader. This afternoon Maple have been making worry dolls. The aim of our worry dolls is to help us work through our worries, by telling our dolls what is bothering us. We might then want to share our worries with a friend or a trusted adult. For now, our worry dolls are helping us in school, but next week the children will be bringing them home.
We’ve had a great first week back. We all really enjoyed world book day and creating Mother’s Day cards. We wish all the mums, nans, aunties and special ladies a wonderful mothers day. Here some pictures of our week
Year 4 Hawthorn enjoyed many different activities on world book day! Their favourite was their classmate Molly (Miss Trunchball) locking them in the chokey. Everyone looked wonderful, well done year 4 for your efforts.
It’s great to be back and we have had such a fun week seeing all of our friends again. Today we had lots of fun dressing up for World book day. We watched ‘The Masked reader’ and had to guess which teacher was hiding behind the mask while they read different stories. We also made some book marks:
What a lovely day we have had for World Book Day! We have read some of our favourite stories, played games, made bookmarks and puppets of some of our favourite characters and had some amazing costumes!! Miss Horrocks and Miss King loved it that you all knew who we were dressed as… Miss Horrocks’ favourite The Smeds and The Smoos, we just hope we can wash the face paint off!
Today was World Book Day at St Luke’s. From Cindy Lou to Aliens where underpants to King Henry VIII (a perfect fit for our theme ‘Off With Her Head’), the children all looked fantastic. Year 5 have taken part in lots of Book Day activities including online workshops with authors and illustrators, live online lessons and trying to workout which teachers were ‘The Masked Readers’.
