Volcano Vocabulary

Black History Month in Year 5

October is Black History Month in the Uk. Today we learnt about why Black History is celebrated, and about significant people within black history, including Rosa Parks, Nelson Mandela, Mary Seacole, Barack Obama and George Washington Cava. We then created our own fact files.

Black History Month – Willows

In Willows today we talked about Black History Month where we looked at famous black people that achieved great things! We discussed the meaning behind Black History Month and talked about how we shouldn’t discriminate because of the colour of someone’s skin. The children found it really interesting and loved learning about Rosa Parks, Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama and many more!
