Today Willows have been learning all about temperature and how to read a thermometer! Mrs Nuttall tested how warm her hands were and demonstrated how the liquid goes up and down based on the temperature. Hawthorn have written a letter to an author of their choice to persuade them to come to our school to promote the love of reading. They did a splendid job of persuading the authors!
Parents: As part of our WW2 topic, Year 6 wrote a letter, describing what it was like to be evacuated. They had to talk about the journey to, and arriving at, the station, what their host family was like, and how much they were missing you. Year 6 have been looking Arvada amours landmarks across London which were targeted or damaged during the Blitz. We looked out how cityscapes take the landmarks and place them side by side to create a silhouette of a city. Maple’s new topic this half term is ‘Misty Mountains, Winding Rivers’. We have been imagining what it would be like to stand at the foot of a towering mountain or sit by a fast-flowing river. The children have used their senses to think about what they would see, hear and feel. There have been some amazing descriptions written.
