French body parts

Over the last couple of weeks Year 3 have been learning parts of the body in French. To help us with his we have been singing and dancing along to the French head, shoulders knees and toes and to Jean petit qui danse.

Mental Health awareness day KS2

Yesterday was World Mental Health awareness day. At St Luke’s, supporting good mental health and wellbeing is very important. Mental Health Awareness Week

Willows talked about what makes us happy, sad, angry and anxious. We learnt a lot of new things about our friends and it was nice to talk about our feelings. It was really exciting to hear some of the things that made them happy and we discussed ways we could solve the things that made us sad or anxious.

Making Bread

This week we’ve have been reading the story of ‘The Little Red Hen’. As a class we decided to help each other make some bread. We read the instructions and then followed them very carefully. After we baked the bread, we had a taste. It was delicious!

In dinosaur school we have been looking at different feelings and emotions, we passed round our teddy bear Beth and shared our own feelings. Year 5 Pollination

This afternoon, we enjoyed carrying out a practical activity to demonstrate how plants are pollinated by insects. First the children drew a brightly coloured flower to attract insects. I then gave each child some nectar (cheese puffs). The class were transformed into bees and ate the delicious nectar.
