Sometimes we can find some lessons challenging, but in Year 4 we know it is important to have the right mindset. Today we visited the library again. We loved being able to look at all of the different books and spent a long time reading them carefully with our friends.
We started our topic off by reading Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert in Kaden’s Garden. It was such a wonderful spot to read this book. As we looked up, there were leaves falling all around us. Leaf Man even landed on Mrs Nuttall – she was very surprised! To end our topic ‘Land ahoy’ we have been making some pirate ships. To begin we had to think carefully, from our science experiments, about which materials would be best to make our boat so it would float. We had lots of fun making these in school and would love to see who has tested their pirate ships at home to see if they float.
We have been busy taking on our new role as digital leaders this half term. To begin we went into Year 2 to help during a computer lesson. We have helped to set up a digital leader display in the reception area and have completed an assembly so all children and adults know who we are and how we can help.
As our WW2 topic drew to a close, the children celebrated the end of the war in style. On Friday, Year 4 Hawthorn, had a fantastic time at the library. We were so excited to pick books to take back to school. This afternoon the children in Maple have been thinking deeply about who Jesus said he was. We have thought about the ways in which Jesus described himself and what he meant by this. This morning we went to the library in heywood, we walked in a line and was very sensible walking together.
