Christmas Party

Everyone looked fantastic in their party clothes. We all had a fantastic afternoon and everyone enjoyed themselves. We played musical statues, pass the parcel, had dancing competitions, did the hokey cokey and we even managed to fit in baby shark! When we had finished all the dancing I think we were all a little bit tired.

Arctic Food Chains and Food Webs

As part of our Frozen Kingdom topic, Year 6 had to try and construct food webs to show predators and prey in the Arctic. We studied many of the animals, where they live, the conditions they need, where they would likely hunt, and investigated further into the animals’ eating habits. We looked at what producers, consumers, herbivores, omnivores, predators, prey and top predators are and used this knowledge to help construct the food webs.   Read more

In science we have been investigating soil permeability using 3 different types of soil. We used a funnel, filter paper and measuring cylinders to carry out our investigation. First we planned our investigation in groups and made a prediction, then we carried out our investigation and made a conclusion about our findings.

In Reception, we have been learning about ‘People who help us’. We were very lucky to have a parent who is a firefighter and he volunteered to come to school. He talked to us about being a firefighter. We told us about what it was like being a firefighter and what they do. He even brought in some of his equipment for us to have a look at and try on! We learnt lots of things Read more

What’s under our feet?

We also made a model of the Earth using plasticine. Each colour representated a different layer on the Earth – the crust, the mantle, the inner and the outer core! It was lots of fun
