We completed a treasure hunt to find out about healthy eating. We had to read the clues then complete a body map.
What a fantastic day Year 5. You have been an amazing help today, showing how responsible and mature you are. Excellent explanations and help have been given to children in KS1 and 2 about how best to solve mathematical problems. Your own attempts at problem solving have also impressed me. Great teamwork and encouragement for others from everyone. Well done 😃
Year 1 worked very hard in the hall this morning with help from the Year 5 children to complete the activities from the Maths Carousel. We had lots of fun working with our partners to work out the answers to the puzzles. Thank you to Year 5 for organising it!
This week we have been learning about time. We found it a little bit tricky at first but now we know the features of a clock and we can also tell the o’clock time. Last term and last week we worked very hard to earn our 20 marbles! As a class we decided to make the most of the sun (whilst it lasted) and go to Queen’s Park. We had lots of fun and got lots of exercise too!
We have been working very hard in maths finding out about equivalent fractions using fraction walls, Cuisinare Rods and Tarsia puzzles.
In English we have been writing explanation text about muscles and we have been researching lots of information about them. Finding out about what they are made from, what types of muscles there are and how they work! We have learnt lots of interesting facts!
We have been busy in Kayden’s garden planting lots of fruit and vegetables as part of our science topic. We cannot wait to watch them grow and try them.
Jupiter had a very exciting afternoon in the sun! Our Science topic this half term is ‘ How will 5 a day help me to be healthy?’ We went in to Kaden’s garden and we have started to grow our own vegetables and flowers.
