The Royal Wedding

Everybody looks brilliant today dressed in red, white and blue for the Royal Wedding tomorrow. We have had a lovely day learning about the Royal Family and reading lots of stories about the Royal Family too (we even read about the Queen’s knickers). The stories were very funny! We have all worked hard making flags so we can wave them tomorrow… we are very excited now! We have also been playing some traditional English garden Read more

Where is Beth?

We have had lots of fun today celebrating the Royal Wedding but we’ve also been very worried about our class teddy bear, Beth. Beth has been missing all day and no one has seen her. We have been looking for Beth all afternoon and then we received an email from Miss Robinson. We were all very shocked! We couldn’t believe that Beth had snuck into Miss Robinson’s suitcase but we hope she has a lovely Read more

Phonics Wordsearches

For our early morning work, children were challenged to find ‘oi’ and ‘oy’ words in their word searches today. We found it lots of fun and managed to find lots of words within the letters!

Bible Stories

In our R.E. lessons this half term we have been reading lots of different bible stories. Noah’s Ark and Joseph’s Coat were our favourites. We made a promise rainbow from Noah’s Ark and we recreated Joseph’s coat of many colours – have a look at our brilliant work.

Park life

Year 4 went to Queen’s Park for science today to find all the different types of flowers that grow there. Before we went, we predicted what type of flowers we would find and why the conditions of Queen’s Park are good for growing a variety of different plants. Here are some snapshots of our work.

Deserted

We have been stuck on a desert island and we needed to think about basic needs and non-essential. Afterwards we talked about why certain things are essential and others are just non-essential.

Shelters

This half term we are designing and making our own rainforest shelters. This afternoon we have been exploring structures which may be used in the design of our shelters. We discussed and experimented with different ways of joining and combining different materials. The children came up some great ideas for reinforcing their structures to make them stronger.
