Engineering Educates

The Digital leaders have had a great morning at Rochdale Rugby club to complete Engineering Educates workshop. We looking at what we think a ‘typical’ robot looks like. We then learnt about what engineering is and how they use robots to help complete different jobs. Next their challenge was ‘Motion in the Ocean’ to create a robot inspired by biomimicry.

Adapting a recipe Year 5

This half term Year 5 will be learning about cooking and nutrition. In last week’s lesson we learnt all about the farm to fork process and how meat products, specifically beef, are produced. Art club week 1 – Jeff Koons Balloon Dog

This weeks Art Club was inspired by artist Jeff Koon’s iconic balloon dog series. The children created their own brightly coloured balloons dogs using ovals and paint to create the illusion of a round shiny form. Cinema & Golf Trip

Yesterday, Year 5 went on their school trip to the cinema and mini golf. The children had a fantastic day, really enjoyed watching the new live action Lilo and Stitch, followed by lunch and a game of mini golf at Putt & Play. The children were a credit to the school, behaved fabulously and loved their day out!  

Computer club

Year 3 have had lots of fun during Computer club. They have: played Minecraft coding Completed coding games on the IPad played snakes and ladders using the beet bots used the micro:bits following on from their DT lessons played games on Purple Mash Well done to the Digital Leaders as well that have been helping out each week.

Y6 and Y1 PE

This week, Year 6 supported Miss Lomax in teaching PE. As we have been doing athletics this half-term, the Year 6 children each decided upon, and set up a station. The year 1 children spent time in each group and the Year 6 children supported them in improving their skills.
