Roman Workshop

Yesterday, Year 4 took part in an exciting and educational workshop all about the Romans, delivered by Touchstones. We discovered fascinating facts about Roman life, explored real Roman artefacts, tried on authentic-style Roman armour, and even created our own Vexillas (Roman flags).

We had a visit from Touchstones museum this morning, who led a workshop all about the Roman’s. We made vexillum’s, which are flags that were used by the Roman army. We also were able to try on a Roman helmet and hold a sword and a shield that would have been used in battle. They were very heavy!

The first produced different rhythms with their bodies and voices and then moved onto musical instruments and digital music. The children accessed the carousel of activities with the help of year 3! We had a great morning together.
