Craft and design: Architecture

This half term we will be looking at architecture as part of our art topic. Today the children learnt about observational drawing and effective ways to draw the size of an object accurately. We used pencils and rulers as visual markers for the size of a house. We spent time observing and drawing homes on our street.  

The Three Little Pigs

This week we have been reading the story, ‘The Three Little Pigs’. Reception have been reading the story, retelling it with their friends and they have been building houses for the three little pigs to live in. Pantomime Time!

This week, Year 5 Juniper were able to watch a fantastic pantomime in our very own school hall! We were able to watch The Wizard of Oz with amazing actors, fabulous sets and lots of ways to be interactive. Easter Raffle Winners

Thank you to everyone who supported our school council in raising money for their chosen charity ‘Cold Hands Warm Hearts’. Cold Hands Warm Hearts are a fantastic, local homeless charity and we know they will be very grateful for the donation. Well done to all our winners!

Panto!

Today Pine have been treated to a panto show in the school hall – The Wizard of Oz. Everyone had a really great time. The actors, the sets, the music were absolutely fantastic! After the show, Pine took part in a workshop with the actors. They got to act out a few lines, see how the equipment works and ask the actors lots of questions about their jobs.

Stuffed toys

This half term Year 5 have worked very hard to create their own stuffed toys. They children designed the toys and thought about the materials they would need. We have practised using a blanket stitch to create the toys. Well done Year 5!
