Year 3 Birch – observational drawings
We loved looking at our beautiful flowers today and recreating the shapes from the petals and stems. There were some wonderful drawings and the children took their time to create these.

Bluebells have been learning about Remembrance Day. We have been making our own Poppies using different materials and we have completed our two minute silence.
Year 3 have had such a fun afternoon looking for different textures to create rubbings from. We looked indoors and outdoors to find contrasting textures to use in our art work. We then came in and created a picture with the rubbings by tearing shapes out of them. They looked Read more…
The children had fun this afternoon in art printing with paint. We looked at how we could use Lego bricks to create prints by painting and stamping the blocks. The children experiment with pattern, shape and colour. Some children challenged themselves to make their initials using the blocks.
We loved our cave art lesson today! We got under our tables (like we were in a cave) and used paints to create positive and negative prints with our hands. We really enjoyed this and loved being in our “caves”.

Year 6 looked at how we can best analyse a famous painting. We looked at how artists tell stories or show feelings through their artwork. We interpreted the painting by trying to suggest its meaning, and looked closely to try and identify and notice small details, describing them after sketching.
