World Book Day
We had so much fun during world book day this year and took part in lots of lovely activities. We made book marks, read lots of stories and even wrote a recipe for a hero/heroine. A big well done to our world book day winners!

We have all enjoyed celebrating World Book Day. We have been very busy reading lots of stories together, designing our own book covers and creating a bookmark. Everyone looked fantastic in their costumes!

Children loved looking for fiction and non-fiction books again. They remembered some of the features from last week.
Children loved exploring the library today. They learnt about fiction and non-fiction books and went to go and find these types of books. We found lots of information in the non-fiction books. We also looked into the features that make a non-fiction book (contents pages, labels, photographs etc)
Some of our Year 2 children have completed the phonics programme and are now taking part in daily Guided Reading sessions. This week we have been reading the book ‘Supertato’. The evil pea has been causing havoc in our classroom, trapping vegetables and stealing things! We created super veggies to save the day. The children chose their resources carefully, creating capes and different body parts for their superheroes.
