Planning a ghost story
Year 6 have begun to plan and write their own ghost stories. We created our own narrative map to plan each paragraph and decided which fantastics lenses would create the best sentences for each paragraph.

After 6 weeks of working with sports journalist, Gareth Walker, Year 6 produced their own opinion pieces are the importance of winning. We were also able to have a Q&A with Gareth around his role and a career in writing and journalism.
During session four of our Literacy Kicks workshops, we looked at the role of a sub editor and how they edit submitted news reports before publishing. For our final piece, Year created a double-page spread about the famous artist, Banksy. We took all of the skills we have acquired throughout the unit, looking at the techniques and meanings behind different artwork, and recreated Banksy’s most famous pieces on the styles we have looked at.
