What was life like for an evacuee during World War 2?

We looked at images to try and infer what evacuees were thinking, feeling and how they would act during the war.

We noted how we would feel and what we would think if we were in their position.

We then linked sounds and music from WW2 to feelings and actions, trying to give meaning to each clip.

We decided that all children and staff should take shelter under their desks when an air raid siren was sounded. We were able to sit back in our chairs when he had heard the all clear siren.

Later on, we looked at how children used to race to the windows to spot the famous ‘Spitfire’ when they flew over.
