Wow! What a brilliant start to the new school year Oak class have had!

All the children have been fantastic and were very excited to return to school and see their friends again after such a long time off. We have had a lovely couple of days settling in and exploring the classroom and outdoor area. The children have coped really well with the transition into Year 1 and are adjusting well to the new classroom and routines.

Here are some of the exciting activities we have done:

  • listened to stories
  • read books in the reading area
  • practised writing and drawing in the writing area
  • painted self-portraits
  • made birthday cards for our friends to give out throughout the year
  • played board games such as snakes and ladders, rhyming bingo and connect four
  • showed off our brilliant dance moves taking part in kid’s zumba
  • played in our Vets role play area
  • played outside – balancing on the tyres, chalking on the floor, and washing the animals

We also had a P.E. lesson this afternoon with Mr Tomkins which we all enjoyed! We will have P.E. lessons every Friday afternoon so please ensure your child comes to school wearing their P.E. kit on Friday mornings.

Have a great weekend everybody and see you again on Monday!
