Today, Year 1 had a fab Christmas party. We ate party food, played party games, sang, danced and even had a special visit from Father Christmas, who brought us all a gift. Merry Christmas to all our Year 1 Children and their families. We hope you have a fabulous half-term.

Year 6 Rowan chose to go to Queen’s Park as part of their 500 dojo reward. The children really enjoyed themselves and behaved beautifully. Well done Year 6.
This weeks Science experiement is ‘creating your own lava lamp’. The science behind the lava lamp – The oil floats on top of the water because it is less dense or lighter than water. In RE, Year 6 have been looking at the Christmas Story. We focused on Jesus as The Son, The Father and The Holy Spirit. The children discussed and defined the word Incarnation. We explored that Christians believe that Jesus is God Incarnate, which means God in the flesh. A person who embodies in the flesh a deity, spirit, or quality. To mark the end of our ‘Physical and Chemical Changes’ topic, Juniper have carried out an investigative task which challenged them to free a toy car from a block of ice using pure salt, rock salt and bicarbonate of soda. They had to find out which substance would melt the ice the quickest. Year 6 have started a new topic in ART – Drawing (making my voice heard). Today, we started our first lesson we started to explore the patterns, colours and symbols of Maya art and recording findings through experimental and expressive mark making using handmade tools and new surfaces. Last week, Year 5 and 6 went to church for their Christingle Celebration. They were all absolutely amazing! The children performed their lines and songs beautifully.
