Juniper have worked extremely hard this week to learn a written method for multiplying 2 digits by 2 digits. We have written a recipe for being successful. All of us have shown great progress since the start of the week and today we have been able to work in pairs, coaching each other using the recipe and identifying success or where we had made a mistake. A really big well done to everyone!
In Art, year one have been learning about sculptures. We have looked and lots of examples and used paper and card to create our own sculptures. Some children made towers and cone shapes to create their own castles. Other children have thought about how we can create different textures using paper and card. The children have enjoyed these lessons and have asked to carry on working in these during cool time.
Our first Forest school session was so much fun. As this was our first time in Year 2 we discussed the rules of Forest school. We then became explorers and went exploring the forest area. Each session, he will be guiding the children through writing professional pieces of sports journalism, sharing his skills and expertise, whilst helping us to improve our own writing. Today we looked at reporting on England’s Euro 2024 qualifier versus Italy, and how we can note key details quickly in the moment.
We’ve had lots of fun for our Christmas party. We played games, danced loads and had party food. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas 🎄
This half term Year 5 Juniper have reached their 500 dojo target (we actually doubled this) and so deserved a treat. Today we spent the afternoon in Queens Park having fun and drinking hot chocolate which was kindly donated by Queens Park Cafe. The children had a great time. We finished our afternoon with a Christmas movie and some gingerbread.
