Year 4 Shared Learning

Shared learning this morning for Year 4 Hawthorn. It was lovely for the children to spend time with their grown-ups and talk about their learning in class. Together, they created their very own chocolate bar wrapper and completed a Charlie and chocolate factory quiz. Thank you to all her parents and carers for coming this morning.

Ethos team

The ethos team have been busy preparing for their collective worship this week. As part of this they made sensory bottles for some of our children, which represents the story of Jesus calms the storm. The children enjoyed exploring these bottles. Special places in forest school

In RE, we have been thinking about special places. In forest school this week we shared places that are special to use around the fire circle. The children then got busy creating their own special places. The children worked hard building their own den and could explain why it was important to them. If God is everywhere, why go to a place of worship?

This half term we are answering the big question ‘If God is everywhere, why go to a place of worship?’. During todays lesson we investigated Hinduism and the similarities and differences between worshipping at home or at a Mandir. The children really enjoyed learning about a different religion and looking at some of the items that Hindu people use to create a shrine.  

Shared Learning with parents

This morning was our shared learning when our parents came into school to complete an activity with us and then we got to have lunch together. As we are currently reading the book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, our task was to invent a new chocolate bar, come up with a name for it and create packaging for it. We had lots of fun!  

This half-term, Year 2 are working with clay in Art. In our first lesson, we went down to our forest school and explored the Clay by  experimenting with tools to make marks, shaping the clay with our hands and then making a model of our choice.
