PANTS

We have all completed our PANTS lesson to discuss the importance of keeping safe. We created an acrostic poem to explain what PANTS means: Privates are private Always remember your body belongs to you No means no Talk about secrets that upset you Speak up, someone can help. We then labelled a picture of different parts of the body and talked about the correct terminology for boys and girls private parts. You can find out Read more

Street Art

For our final piece, we were tasked with creating a positive message through street art, applying the techniques we had learnt over the last 6 lessons. We Waldo had to incorporate images into our artwork, and could use any medium we chose. The results were amazing!

Dodgeball Festival

Well done to our dodgeball team who represented us in the Dodgeball festival. They worked as a team and made sensible decisions based on the benefits of the game. Well done everyone. You worked so hard! We are extremely proud of you.

Family scroll

In History, we have been learning all about how Chinese people worship their ancestors. We had a go at respecting our ancestors and made our own family scrolls. Here are some pictures of our learning.

Yoga!

This afternoon during our PE lesson we learnt some new yoga poses and learnt how to control our breathing if we are feeling stressed or worried. The children worked hard to focus on their balance and their technique. A very relaxing lesson!

Protest Posters

As part of our history topic, Civil Rights, we have been looking at protests and the balance between safety and freedom as our big question. We looked at global issues and how people protest to make their voice heard. We then focussed on the BLM protests and protest for equality. We took this skills we learnt in our art unit to create charcoal street art to create banners to send a message.

Can you play the cornet?

This half term Juniper are learning to play the cornet. What a great start they’ve had! There’s been some excellent technique used to blow through the mouthpiece and create musical notes. Each week they’ll build on their skills and hopefully be able to play a tune by the end of it!

Global issues

For our Picture News lesson we have been looking at the effect climate change has had on Antarctica. We discussed different ways we could help and how by doing something small could still help. We then decided what we would like to do to help. Some examples were: turning lights out when they are not being used, not wasting paper and making sure it is being recycled, walk more instead of using the car.
