Year 3 Birch Computing – spreadsheets
We loved computing today. We used spreadsheets to input data and then used this to create a graph. We used our favourite ice cream flavours.

Forest school
In forest school this week Year 6 Rowan have been learning all about The Good Samaritan by sequencing the story and then using the natural forest materials to create artwork. The children has so much fun exploring forest school and were very lucky the rain held off.

Remembrance day 2023
As part of our remembrance celebrations, Year 6 took a wreath the lay at the cenotaph in Heywood. Year 6 were joined by Mrs Farrall and Councillor Rush. After laying the wreath, 2 children shared Remembrance prayers and we had the opportunity to spend some quiet reflection time. The children observed the silence and prayers impeccably and were thoughtful and respectful throughout.

Our 1st care home visit
Today, our School Council went on our first visit to Springbank care home. As this was our first visit, the school council children took some games and colourings to get to know the residents. As you can see from the pictures, both the children and the residents absolutely loved their visit. A big thank you to all of the parents and grandparents that attended our share lunch and learning. It was a big success and the children and adults had a great time. Wiggle Worship
This week, Wiggle brought us the story of ‘The Good Samaritan’. We discussed how the story links with our Christian Value of friendship. We talked about which of the characters showed kindness and friendship towards the man in need and how this made the man feel. Physical Changes
This afternoon, Juniper have been learning about what a physical change is in Science. We now know that a physical change is any change in state such as melting, boiling, condensing or freezing and that the change can be reversed. We have enjoyed seeing some of these physical changes take place. Have a look at our photos to see which states we have changed.

BODMAS
As part of our four operations unit of work, Year 6 looked at order of operations and how we must use BODMAS. We explored how brackets and BODMAS affect our answers, challenged ourselves to use BODMAS to find 30 answers to the same calculation, played connect 4 and even solved a murder mystery!

Shared lunch & learning
Thank you to all the parents and grandparents that came to our shared lunch and learning. The children had so much fun (and I hope the adults did too).
