Coding week

This week in Maple we have been enjoying Coding Week. We designed a football coding game and debugged to fix any errors in the code. Some of us had a go at designing a background in Free Code gibbon on Purple Mash, we learnt how to go in to design mode to change its look and features. We had lots of fun!

Today, Oaks went on a hunt in Forest School to find things that were moving without being touched. When we gathered back together we talked about our findings and discovered that the wind was making things move. Online Safety – Digital Footprints

As part of our online safety unit, we looked at digital footprints, and how they can affect employability, the impressions we get of people, and future prospects. We assessed candidates based on their experiences and digital footprints across social media. From this, we looked at the information that would possibly reveal our identity or give a negative impression.  

Weather reporters

In geography, we have been learning about weather. This week, we watched weather reports and discussed why they are important. We also learnt symbols that are used to show different types of weather. Then, we became the reporters. We used language such as North, South, inland and coastal to act out our own weather forecast, in groups.

Juniper have enjoyed celebrating European Languages Day today. We have learnt some interesting facts about languages in other countries. Did you know that if you ask for pasta in Italian then you are asking for toothpaste in Poland!?
