In Reception, we have been looking after some caterpillars. We gave them lots of food and watched them grow. They grew really big! We then observed the caterpillars and watched them turn into a chrysalis. When we came into school this morning, we had lots of beautiful butterflies! We are going to look after our butterflies for a few days and then we will release them into Kaden’s Garden.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

In Reception, we have been learning about ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. We have learnt how to retell the story and the life cycle of a butterfly. During the story, the caterpillar eats lots of fruit. So we decided to taste test different fruits and see which ones we prefer. Once we had taste tested all of fruits, we started to write some adjectives describing how they tasted.
