Sublime science & England party

Today we’ve had a fantastic day. The day started with Sublime science show, we got to make sweets and slime and got to watch lots of fun science experiments.   This afternoon we then had a party to celebrate England making it to the finals. We played corners, musical statues, made some England cakes, designed a football kit and had lots of delicious party food.

Viking experience day

Year 4 had an amazing Viking experience day making jewellery, shields, Thor’s hammer and Viking Oatcakes. The day was fun filled and action packed from start to finish and the children’s behaviour was exemplary. In the afternoon we watched a show, Viking Tale, from the Hobgoblin Theatre Company which the children thoroughly enjoyed. What an experience.

Travelling Science Show

Today Year 3 had Adrian Bowden visit school with his travelling science show. We spent the morning watching the ‘Light and Sound’ show and this afternoon we watched ‘Marvellous Materials’. It was really fun and we got to take part and help him with the different investigations.  

Should we care for everyone?

In RE we have been looking at how we need to respect and look after everyone. After a discussion we went outside then used chalk to draw around each other. Rock pool experience

Today we took part in a rock pool experience. We learnt lots of interesting facts about sea creatures, beaches and how we can better take care of marine life. We first had a talk and then we were able to hold lots of the creatures. This included crabs, starfish and anemones. We all had a fantastic time!

Special Visitors 🦎🐍

Today, we had some special visitors come into school to see us. We have been learning about mini beasts and different types of animals. So, we had some animals come to see us! Our surprise visitors! 🐢🐍🐜🦎

Today, we had some surprise visitors in school to visit Reception! We were all very brave; we held a bearded dragon named Boris, a tortoise called Bentley, a monitor lizard called Buzz, lots of bugs and even a snake named Woody! Vitamin C and Scurvy

As part of our topic this half term we have been learning about James Lind and his discovery of how vitamin C cures scurvy. This afternoon we tasted different fruits and rated them from those that had the least vitamin C to those that had the most vitamin C based on how bitter and sour they tasted.
