Christingle

This morning we have made our Christingles in class. We learnt about the different parts of a Christingle and what they represent: Orange – the world Red ribbon – Jesus’ blood Cocktail sticks – the four compass directions and the four seasons Sweets – the fruits of the Earth Lit candle – Jesus as light of the world

Cherwell Centre

Year 2 had been invited to the Cherwell Centre today and had such an amazing time. They were treated to a hot chocolate and gingerbread man while surrounded by lots of elves (some naughty ones too). Santa visit

Year 2 visited the Cherwell Centre today and had a fantastic time. They were greeted with hot chocolate and a gingerbread man. They then enjoyed a meet-and-greet with Santa, followed by a fun snowball fight with Elsa and Olaf. The children also had the chance to see some adorable reindeer. We’re incredibly grateful to the Cherwell Centre for providing such a memorable experience.

Year 5 and 6 Christingle

Yesterday Rowan and Sycamore made some lovely Christingles. They thought about their preparation for the Christingle service in Church this morning and the meaning behind the different parts of the Christingle. Today in church they were absolutely amazing. They sung beautifully and really joined in with the actions for the song while singing. Well done everyone😊🎄

Christingle

This week the children took part in a special festive activity: making their own Christingles. The children explored the different materials, bright oranges, red ribbons, sweets, and candles, and talked about what each part represented. The children showed great fine-motor skills as they pushed the cocktail sticks into the oranges and carefully placed the sweets on top. Skills Builder – Operation Moonbase Challenge Day

It was an exciting Challenge Day in Maple as we took part in the Operation Moonbase mission from Skills Builder. The children threw themselves into the task with brilliant enthusiasm and worked on all eight Skills Builder skills: listening, speaking, teamwork, leadership, problem solving, creativity, staying positive, and aiming high. Skills builder- Operation moonbase

Today we have been taking part in a Skills builder day- Operation Moonbase. We were set different challenges throughout the day using all of the different Skills Builders. We have had lots of fun creating our own society thinking carefully about which 4 people would go to Utopia and which buildings would be the most important. In the afternoon we worked together to prepare a presentation of our society to the rest of the class.
