Division

This week the children have been learning how to divide 2-digit by 1-digit numbers. They have all worked really hard using partitioning to work out the answers. Today we moved on to learning about division with remainders. We used multi link cubes to help us share our numbers and find out how many were left to make our remainder.

Birds Nests

In Year 1 we have been learning about animals and their homes. We then had to choose one of the homes that we would like to try and make ourselves – we chose a bird nest. We went into our outdoor area and around the path to collect the materials that we thought would be most suitable. The children have impressed with the knowledge they have already gained in a short space of time and used this experience to test themselves and the knowledge they have gained.   After discussing how to carry out an effective dissection, the Read more
